What do you mean I "strawmann'd it"? If it means I lied or something in my description, that was actually and honest representation of my experience as I remember it. I didn't just stop playing an "amazing game" to have an argument on the internet. I sincerely got bored.

Half-life 2 has a story that beats out any new Final Fantasy, and god damned especially World of Warcraft anyday.

And OK, I do understand that people's opinions can differ from my own. But I don't play WoW for the story anyways. It's the people and world I like.

I'd just like to say that I don't usually find this as a bad thing in story-driven games, which I assume HL-2 is. I just mentioned the linearity because there wasn't any motivation for me so all I had was "There's only one way. Might as well see what's down there"

WoW was more about the community, playing with friends and overall teamwork. I find it gets boring fast (especially at max level) if you don't play with others. I was under the impression that HL-2 was more about the environment, characters and story which is also why I don't judge the game by the weapons or anything like that.

They're very different games and appeal to very different tastes.

I don't know. I guess I didn't really get the motivation. How I remember it was:

There were people, living in a shit-hole Orwellian style world and I... was there also. Then I followed a linear path to escape, to get to a doctor. The Doc then tries to transport me and fucks up, and then I have to try to get back to them. I don't understand why, but that's the linear path in front of me, so I followed it. And after a while of that I got bored.

I never really gave it this much thought, but now I find myself wondering why everyone else likes it so much. I usually just thought "Meh, differences of opinion", but now I can't see why anyone would like what I described (provided it's in any way accurate).

I put a lot of time into a lot of games. WoW and Battlefield are my online games. I tend to try to complete my games (get all weapons and achievements, etc). The offline ones that I sunk most of my time into and got 100% in (or the equivalent of) are the Final Fantasy series, Tony Hawk games (up until Underground 2), Grand Theft Auto....

They're just the games over the years that gave a lot of play time, for comparison.

I just found nothing that interested me in Half-Life, and I own all of them. I tend not to talk about it on reddit though, because as you can see, you get just downvoted for it.

I can't remember exactly how long I was playing but there was a priest with a shotgun or something around the point I quit. (The last name I remember was Ravenholm so I just assumed that was it).

I played up until Ravenholm. Got bored and turned on something else (I think I was playing WoW and BF2 at the time).

Just not the game for me.

Have you ever tried sitting in those benches? Man, I hate them. They're curved in a way that you can't slouch OR sit straight, and worst of all, they are slanted so they're difficult to get out of. Also, what the shit type of arm-rest is that?

If you watched the movies soon after each other, then yes, otherwise no. The two actors played the same character very differently. I found Harris' to be spot on whereas Gambon's always seemed angry or something. A major difference imo.

That's all wrapped up on EA's end, but they put their app on the app store which (I assume) would have some of it's own rules on this subject.

Does anyone know if there's a contradiction, and if so, will Apple be doing anything about it? I'm guessing that if they were to do anything they'd have to be careful as EA make quite a few of their best games.
